Located in Amagansett, this small cottage—that was once Lauren Bacall’s private studio—now serves as the FOAIR (Further On Artists In Residence) program. During our residency, we proposed expanding the sleeping loft to better accommodate visiting artists. The addition of a large dormer, or "monitor," increases the bedroom's space, offering expansive views of the beautifully landscaped property. This thoughtful intervention brings in more natural light, enhancing the loft's comfort and functionality, while maintaining the cottage’s original charm. The project provides a serene, inspiring environment for artists to reflect and create.
